Masters of Endurance moved into the second half of its season, the remainder being 6 hour races, with tough tests for the teams at South City Long and new for this season, a trip to Fern Bay Black. After their double points wins in the 24 hour race, both ineX Racing GT1 and spdoRacing GT2 were looking to consolidate their healthy leads in each championship.

In GT1 ineX Racing did just that, by taking second in the streets, and a win in Jamaica. They didn’t have it all their own way however, as Team Sirius claimed the South City win with a superior strategy which meant they did one pit stop less than their rivals. But it was a pair of contrasting races, as they finished last in the GT1 class at Fern Bay. Leading from the start, a crash at the end of the first stint meant they lost a lap repairing the front-end damage, then time outs from the server later on meant they eventually finished 3 laps down.

This leaves ineX Racing with a comfortable 25 point lead over Team Sirius in GT1, and with 27 points available, they only need to finish the final round to secure the title. spdoRacing kept their faint hopes of the championship alive with two podiums - they lie half a point further back - while CoRe Racing managed their second podium of the season at Fern Bay.

The situation is somewhat closer in GT2, with spdoRacing just 14 points ahead of ineX Racing, who cut the gap down from 32 points with a pair of convincing GT2 wins, and made it wins in both classes at round five. Although spdoRacing were on the podium in both races, they were lucky to hold on third at Fern Bay after newcomers DRUNK Team caught them in the final stages. Going into the infamous tricky chicane, the pair collided and DRUNK took third on the road, later reversed by race admins.

Now third in the points, one-time leaders RAPTOR-GAMING retired after just 6 laps in round four, but bounced back to claim second at the next round, and Tiger Express Motorsports claimed their first podium place at South City, with the unfancied XRR.

As it is, going into the final round spdoRacing require a podium position to claim the GT2 crown, no matter what anyone else does. In the very competitive GT2 class, and over 6 hours where anything can happen, this will be an interesting task to watch.

So join us from 1400 UTC, this Saturday 7th May on multibc.de stream III to watch the conclusion of the sixth season of Masters of Endurance, at Kyoto National.

The most prestigious and longest race in Masters of Endurance made its sixth annual appearance on the calendar, once again for double points. The 24 hours of Aston Grand Prix took place on the 8th of February, and the top teams had no doubts as to how important the race would be in shaping their bids to win the GT1 & GT2 titles. Before this race, it was decided to disband the GT0 class, with most of the teams moving into GT1, bringing MoE back to the 2 class system which had served it well for the previous 3 seasons. Despite only 19 cars in the field, the racing would be as close as ever.

GT1 saw four of the seven teams lead the race at some point, but it was ineX Racing GT1 who were at the front after the 24 hours to take the win, and the lead in the championship. As in round one, as well as having consistent pace, they make sure they had a mostly error and incident-free race, with only a drive-through penalty for speeding and an off a few hours into the race to blot their copybook.

After securing yet another pole position, Team Sirius' race would go downhill. Pasic was involved in drama from the green flag, taking to the gravel after a some contact at turn one, leaving them at the back of the field. After making their way back to the front, they held off spdoRacing GT1 - who were on a different tyre strategy - but time outs from the server during the overnight stints kept the chasing pack in touch. Sirius then lost a lap fixing a controller problem 6 hours from the end, the same penalty that spdoRacing received for fixing their damaged engine.

Cruel luck for Concept Racing saw them time out on the penultimate lap when in third, promoting Sirius onto the podium. The 13.340 seconds between ineX and spdo at the front after 528 laps was the closest winning margin in MoE 24 hour race history!

The battle at the front of GT2 was even more fraught than GT1, with the top 4 setting the record for the most number of cars on the lead lap in the 24 hour race. It was a reversal of GT1 for ineX and spdo’s GT2 teams, as the latter never looked back after inheriting the lead 4 hours into the event. Sonicrealms Racing were involved in a collision while lapping and required a damage repair - but accidentally changed their rear wing angle in the process, which left them struggling for the remainder of the race.

Polesitters ineX Racing GT2 held the lead for the first few hours, however a time out left them trying to make up lost ground. They made it to the podium 21 hours later, chased by championship leaders RAPTOR-RACING. The German team suffered a puncture on the final lap, but managed to stay ahead of Conquest Racing who had pitted on the penultimate lap to avoid the same fate. The final 3 places in GT2 were filled by XRR GT2s, the mini battle won by Hellenic Racing Team.

The fourth race of the season takes place at South City long, so join us at 13:50 on March the 12th, for the broadcast live on MultiBC.de (Stream III)!

Masters of Endurance sprung into action for the first time in 2011 with January 8th's 6 Hours of Westhill International. The race saw a number of lineup changes, as two GT0 teams dropped out of the class — E-Team retired from the series as a whole, while Team Inferno moved their car to the GT1 class. Qualifying times were tight at the top of GT1 and GT2, promising close battles throughout the race.

In GT0, the top 2 teams timed out during the race, but it was spdoRacing who took advantage after ineX Racing were slow to reappear into the server, winning by just 31 seconds. ineX came home second, and showed they had the raw pace by claiming the race's fastest lap — a 1:26.99 set by Mark Bunby. The victory and pole position bonus points boosted spdo's championship effort, narrowing their gap to ineX to just 8.5 points with four races to go. nFinity eSports took the final step on the GT0 podium, gaining some ground on Team ev0». After this race, the future of the GT0 class is in doubt, with at least one other team requesting permission to switch to GT1, while others are vocal in their admiration for the new class. Stay tuned for updates as we move closer to Round 3.

Team Sirius returned to victory lane in GT1, taking the fastest class lap with Norbi Kiss' 1:30.67 and dominating the entire race. They left the foursome of CoRe Racing, Team Inferno, Concept Racing, and spdoRacing two laps behind, in a tight battle for the two remaining podium spots. CoRe would take 2nd, with Corey Green edging out the Inferno car driven by guest driver Kenneth O'Keefe by just one second at the finish. Despite a strong early run that saw them spending time in 2nd place, the Romanian team of GTS Motorsport ended the race a disappointing 6th after a number of difficulties and a 2 lap penalty for rejoining the track unsafely. The race win gave Sirius a small lead in the standings, 4.5 points up on spdoRacing, who lead CoRe Racing by a further 9 points.

RAPTOR-GAMING claimed their first MoE win, with a consistently quick and mistake-free 6 hours as their GT2 rivals faltered. At the start, Sonicrealms Racing lost ground with a first corner spin, while front-running ineX Racing severely damaged their engine and lost a lap in fixing it. After challenging for the early lead, CoRe Racing were involved in an incident with the GT1 car of GTS Motorsport just after the 2 hour mark, which dropped them to 7th. Meanwhile, Team Inferno's XRR held on at the front but a crash at the fast chicane allowed RAPTOR through, and the round 1 winners lacked the pace to mount a comeback. CoRe would ultimately climb up to 2nd thanks to some interesting strategy that saw their fastest driver run .04% over the 45% limit while securing them enough gap to remain in the runner-up spot ahead of Sonicrealms. RAPTOR leads the GT2 standings by just 0.5 points over Team Inferno, with Sonicrealms also in striking distance.

Next month the series heads to its biggest race, the 24 Hours of Aston Grand Prix, all-important with double points on offer. Join us at 15:50 on February the 12th, as we broadcast the entire race live on MultiBC.de (Stream III)!

More than a month after the chequered flag waved on the opening round, all three Masters of Endurance classes once again took to the track, this time for a fierce battle to claim pole position at the fast and flowing Westhill International circuit. Qualifying position is of particular importance here, as overtaking is rarely easy.

In the GT0 class spdoRacing's Matias Pikkarainen claimed pole in Sunday's Q1 session with a time of 1:26.63, and felt secure enough in his 0.18s gap to second-place ineX Racing to sit out the half-hour session on Friday. nFinity eSports and Conquest Racing GT0, who switched to the XRR following Round 1, filled out the second row.

Team Sirius continued their record streak of pole positions, claiming their eighth in a row — the record stretches all the way back to the 12 Hours of Kyoto Grand Prix of 2009, their first event in the series. However, polesitter Sasa Pasic had to work to keep the streak alive, as Concept Racing's Kevin Leu closed in on the top spot during Q2. Pasic responded in kind, advancing the pole time by a tenth of a second to 1:30.62, just over a tenth beyond Leu's reach. Team Playerzone Italia's Massimiliano Bartolotta took a strong third, four tenths behind Leu, in a dead heat with Egon Liibeon of spdoRacing.

The closest battle raged in GT2, with all 12 cars covered by just eight tenths of a second, and the gap between 1st and 2nd just 0.01s! CoRe Racing's Tomek Nogieć topped the timesheets in both sessions, setting the pole time of 1:34.62 in Sunday's Q1. He was closely followed by ineX Racing's Tommy Østgaard. The same gap also covered Team Inferno GT2 and RAPTOR-GAMING in 3rd and 4th, while Conquest Racing GT2 had their time matched by Sonicrealms Racing on the third row.

With little to choose between the frontunners in each class, be sure to join us to see who can turn their qualifying pace into all-important championship points. The 6 hours of Westhill International gets underway at 14:00 UTC, with live flag-to-flag coverage on multibc.de stream 3 from 13:50.

Round 2 starting grid

Wins for ineX, spdo and Inferno in Round 1 at Kyoto GP

The 2010-2011 season of the Masters of Endurance got underway on the first Saturday of December at the Kyoto Grand Prix circuit, inaugurating a new era in Live for Speed endurance racing. For the first time, the 600bhp GT0 class took to the tarmac in anger, setting new track records for GTRs and bringing three-class racing to the series.

The win in GT0 went to the XRR of ineX Racing, who also took pole in their maiden MoE start, effectively sweeping the weekend. Their near-perfect performance coupled with some mistakes from fellow newcomers Team ev0» in the FZR, meant they ended up two laps ahead at the 12-hour mark. The fastest lap in class went to third-place spdoRacing, with the honors claimed by Estonian driver Reno Kööts with a 2:09.88 lap. To put that mark in perspective, last year's GT1 pole lap was a 2:13.76 turned in by Hugo Luis.

Though the majority of the racing throughout the field was close and clean, the GT0 class was not without controversy in its debut weekend. The #05 car of Conquest Racing was involved in a series of incidents that led to the team being disqualified from the event and two of their drivers suspended. These actions erased a respectable 4th-place finish, leaving the team with a lot of work to do to climb back into the points race.

The reconfigured GT1 class saw an epic race-long battle between the Team Sirius and Sonicrealms Racing cars, with both teams turning in blistering times. Norbi Kiss set the best class lap at 2:15.24, just seven hundredths quicker than Sonicrealms' Sebastian Hutchinson. Sasa Pasic led from pole, but Hutchinson took the lead soon after and held it until a drive-through penalty two hours into the race and a time out from the server left them back in third.

With just over an hour to go, Sirius appeared to have the win in the bag, but tragedy struck as Pasic's internet connection gave way and a slow recovery put them a lap down to spdoRacing, who now assumed the lead after a quiet run spent largely in third place. Pasic and Hutchinson spent the last 60 minutes fighting tooth and nail for the second position, but Sirius's late pitstop for fuel assured Sonicrealms of the second step on the podium. Meanwhile, spdo's Lukas Vieten calmly drove to the class win and an early points lead.

Team Inferno dominated the GT2 race in their XRR, taking advantage of a first corner incident which left their main rivals playing catch-up. They grabbed the led at the end of lap one and never looked back, and claimed the fastest lap in class with teamleader Marius Golombeck's 2:21.82.

They were chased all day by Sonicrealms Racing's FZR, on an aggressive tyre strategy that lead to good pace but also punctures, which left them two laps down to the winners. Polesitters RAPTOR-GAMING rounded out the GT2 podium, delivering a solid run but were unable to match their qualifying pace.

The series heads next to the fast and flowing Westhill International course for six hours of three-class madness. Stay tuned for news and broadcast info!
